10 Things To Watch Out For In This Here Music Business
January 10th, 2008as a player…once you reach the age of 30 (+)…if you’d like to keep your self respect/sanity.
1. Ageism (You’re too old for colleges, too young to be taken seriously.)
2. Suitism (”That local guy always wears a suit to the gig - why can’t you?”)
3. Talentism (Nirvana, Creed, Black Eyed Peas)
4. Managism/Labelism (”We don’t deal with unsigned acts.”)
5. Follicism (In most blues & rockabilly circles, you have no cred without a pompadour.)
6. Fenderism (Well, I happen to support this one.)
7. Myspaceism (”How many friends you got?” Yeah dude, Myspace records is doing real great.)
8. Assism (What? Babe Ruth was a “husky” gentleman!)
9. Intelligism (Don’t appear too sharp. You’ll scare the shit out of everyone.)
10. Gearism (Ugh. I hate gear, hate talking about it. I dont give a fuck about point to point wiring. Why is there this need to collect gear when you get into your 30s? Ugh. Ugh.)
